Initial Setup

The team placed a K2 meter and cat balls around the bar area, with the REM Bear positioned on the piano in the back room. A Ouija board was set up in the centre of the main bar area. Indi observed while Ros, Dominique, Rosa, and Caroline sat at the board.

Ouija Board Session 1

After several requests for spirit contact, a male energy came through. The team introduced themselves and asked for a name. Initially, there was no response, but eventually, the spirit spelled out “ZOZO.” When asked if he was a bit of a joker, the response was “yes.” The planchette began “rainbowing” (moving in a sweeping arc across the board), but stopped when requested.

Attempts to gain more information were met with silence, until the planchette moved to “Goodbye.”

The team performed an energy build. Ros reported feeling a light touch on the underside of her wrist. The spirit confirmed it was a female presence, identifying herself as a lady of the night. However, it was later revealed to be the same joker spirit playing tricks. He joked about having had “one too many pints” and described himself as the life and soul of the pub, someone who entertained and drank with the lads.

When asked about his age, the planchette finally responded at “80s.” He claimed to have owned and run the pub in 1956, gave his initials as “QJ,” and attempted to spell his name—“QUEZ,” before again reverting to “ZOZO.” He referenced drinking whisky, rum, and water, dancing the hornpipe with sailors, and mentioned press gangs and smugglers—likely historical references. He said he had served in the RAF but not during WWII. He expressed affection for Ros, joking that he would have gotten her drunk on a first date.

A sudden cold breeze passed over the hands of everyone on the board. The spirit correctly identified four people seated at the table (with Indi nearby but not at the board) and spelled out “ROS,” confirming he knew her. Through a series of personal questions, Ros determined it was her father. He confirmed details only Ros would know, including a rose bush in the garden and her mother’s humorous scolding. He sent a message to her mother, referenced medium Barrie John, and then departed.

Contact with Kathy

A new female spirit named Kathy came through, not connected to any team members but tied to the pub. She claimed multiple spirits were present and watching, saying they wanted to “play.” Kathy said she was not a barmaid but entertained gentlemen and loved to sing and dance. When asked to sing, Ros experienced a sudden dull ache in her right ear—possibly spirit activity. Kathy said her job had “paid well.”

Suddenly, a loud noise from behind the bar startled the group. The Ring doorbell sensor on the bottle shelf had been triggered, despite no one being near it. The footage shows movement, the sound of a woman breathing, and what sounds like a baby crying around the 56-minute mark—all while the team was still seated at the board. Kathy claimed responsibility, saying she was dancing and singing behind the bar.

Ros and Caroline both reported feeling cold on opposite sides, which Kathy confirmed by saying she was standing between them. She said spirits in the pub loved to dance, and Caroline reported tingling fingers as if being invited to join. Kathy then left the board.

Return of the Joker Spirit

The joker spirit returned, again rainbowing the board. He confirmed that Kathy was a real spirit and not a trick. He wanted both Caroline and Ros to dance, teasing that Ros would look silly. He was challenged to prove himself by interacting with the environment—lighting up equipment, moving a glass, or playing the jukebox—but nothing happened.

Footsteps and tapping were heard near the bar. When asked for a favourite song, the spirit spelled “FX,” then “TEMAX” and “AMAMAMAM.” Indi suggested he was trying to spell Amarillo, and the team began singing it. Kathy responded positively to the singing. Ros then heard a loud growl next to her, which no one else heard. Kathy denied being the source.

She referenced Wuthering Heights as a favourite song because her name is in it and asked Ros to sing, which she declined. The spirit continued rainbowing the board, prompting the team to close the session. The planchette moved to “Goodbye,” and the board was respectfully closed.

Alice Box Session

Words that came through during the Alice Box session included:

• MEAT, FORCED – Possibly referencing dietary restrictions, though not common at the time.

• SHOWERS – Ambiguous: rain or bathing?

• MURDERER, TEEN, PAN – Potentially referencing a young victim or perpetrator, or a spirit with connections to cooking or healthcare.

• COUCH, MOVIE, RULE – Hints at structured leisure time.

• BOAT, WEATHER – Suggests connections to Plymouth’s maritime past, including smugglers or Navy ties.

• INTERRUPT, POOR, CHIN, NANA – Random words, possibly indicating multiple spirits trying to communicate.

• CHILDREN – Implies playful spirits were present.
  Ros and Dominique both heard a tap. Caroline moved the ghost teddy and K2 to the floor for better interaction.

The K2 then began flashing in response to:

• COINS – Ros apologized for not having any, then placed pennies and a cat ball on the floor.

• JAMES – Spirit introduced himself.

• GIVE – Possibly a request for coins.

• COMPARE, JAN, FELL – Spirit activity continued; Jan joined James. No physical movement of objects occurred beyond K2 activity.

Automatic Writing Session

The team invited spirits to write or draw. Several entities came through. Most notably, Bob, a former regular and family friend of Rosa’s family, communicated.

• Bob drew love hearts for Rosa and her mother, deeply moving Rosa.

• Spirits drew circles, squares, and what resembled a butterfly when asked to draw a favourite thing.

• Bob left heartfelt messages before departing. All drawings are documented via video and photo.

Final Session: Quiet Time & Calling Out
The team gathered near the shelves with the ghost teddy, K2, and coins still on the floor. The ghost teddy was the most active, going off intermittently. The K2 also flashed a few times. No coin movement or cat ball activity occurred.

Several orbs were seen on video, moving throughout the bar area.
