Description of Area
Large church graveyard with main path running through. Three entrances one at the top of the path, one at the base of the path and one side gate next to the parking area. Large church ruins with two separate entrances and two additional rooms from the main area of the church. One ‘penthouse’ tomb containing the remains of Squire Richard Cabell and family. One separate small building ruin believed to be an old monastery area.
Reported Possible Activity
Visuals of many apparitions including monks, Squire Eward Cabell and other miscellaneous men, women and children. Possible EVP (electromagnetic voice phenomenon). Chance of physical encounters. It has been reported that there are residual hauntings as well as intelligent hauntings at this location.
Brief Summary of History or Legend
Built in the 1600’s the local people believed that the devil was trying to prevent them from building the church. Squire Richard Cabell allegedly killed his wife, sold his soul to the devil and was known to be immoral among the local townspeople. It is reported that hell hounds were seen at his grave and that demonic creatures are regularly seen around his grave. In the 19th century the church graveyard was a popular site for grave robbers. In 1884 the church was set on fire by arsonists and was then restored. In 1992 the church was set on fire again but was ruined and not restored. Archaeological excavations in 2002 found medieval burials underneath the church itself.

Holy Trinity Church - 21/04/2023
Investigation Report
When we arrived at the site we did not consider the time that the sunsets so it was still daylight. We decided to do a walk around so that everyone knew their way around the site, the different areas we would be investigating and also the hazards of the site.
Main Church Area
We set up our table in the main area of the church. We set up cat balls, K2 meters, a trigger station with a ball and a flashlight and also our oujia board. We had a child come through on the oujia board we established this as they did not seem to recognise letters and were answering using the sun and moon for yes and no. We established that the child was buried on the site, they were not alone and that they wanted help. During this we also ran Ghosttube and had the words kneel, John and Bribe come through a lot. We also had rituals, why is he here, worried come through on that. As we were continuing on the board the person spelt SOS and we confirmed if they needed help. Through continuing the conversation lead investigators Ros and Mike helped the child and their family head towards the light and the child said he wanted to say goodbye and moved the planchette to goodbye. We then kept getting the word 'up' on ghost tube. We closed the board and tried to encourage activity with the trigger objects and equipment. As Derry was looking through her thermal imaging scope Ghostube said 'flashlight' which we thought was quite cool.
Side Entrance
We then moved into the side entrance area and set up cat balls at either doorway, left our trigger area set in the church as could see it from our new location and set up an EVP and Spirit box in the entrance. We also set up another oujia board. We had a fair bit come through the spirit box and heard lots of movement noises to the point where we thought there must be other people on the site and did a search but found noone. Whilst in the side entrance Derry and Charlie were sat in the entrance asking out. Charlie felt suddenly like she was going to cry and felt her whole body get very heavy. These feelings lasted for around 5 minutes before suddenly disappearing altogether. At this time the rest of the team were out taking photos of the site.
Monastery Building
We moved to the monastery building and again set up trigger objects and equipment including a K2 and cat balls. We also recorded an EVP session. We did not seem to get any activity and so it was suggested we play some monks chanting to try to increase the activity. Approx three minutes into this playing Charlie felt very heavy and uncomfortable again. Reece felt very sick and Ros felt like her head was in a vice. We all decided to stop the recording and move area as the energy did not feel nice.
Altar Area
We then went back into the church and set up our laser grid over the altar area, along with cat balls, a K2 and a ball. We did not really get much activity here to start except for movement noises behind us and the light in the photos below. We set up a oujia board and someone came through for Charlie who was a relative and expressed they were just there to watch over her on the investigation. We then swapped to put the laser grid pointing to the congregation area of the church however again did not seem to get much activity.
Overall we felt it was a good night. We got the most activity in the side entrance and through the spirit box and EVP. Again we welcome conversation and constructive criticism and all evidence is subject to opinion.
